The Hangover

Partied your pants off last night? I’m sure it was all fun and games until the vodka started tasting like water.. then it seemed like a good idea to eat the biggest, juiciest burger topped with all the goodies (french fries do NOT belong on your burger) annnnd the rest of the night.. well let’s just say it was a blurr. We’ve all had our night.. or two. The worst part? The morning after.

The next morning when you tell yourself you’re never going to drink again, try these simple tips to cure your hangover.

Before Bed: perhaps prepare this part before killing a bottle of wine?

1. Milk Thistle – herbal supplement which is known to reduce the effects of liver poisons.
2. B-Complex Vitamin – keeps the cells active and increases energy production which will help them eliminate alcohol faster.

Next Morning

1. Ginger tea with honey – the ginger will soothe the stomach and honey is known to help metabolize the alcohol more quickly.
2. Coconut Water – great for re-hydrating the body and contains electrolytes
3. Water water WATER! – It is SO important to keep hydrated (juice won’t cut it, sorry!)
4. Nux Vomica – just by reading the name, you should know it’s gunna be good! This specific homeopathic is believed to be the BEST hang over cure! Light sensititve? Sick to your stomach? The birds chirping too loud? Take this homeopathic and all shall be cured!
5. Hang over smoothie!

Last but certainly not least.. take it easy on the booze next time. This isn’t your high school prom, take it down a notch! 😉

The Ultimate Hang Over Smoothie

1/2 banana
2 tbsp. honey
1/2 tsp. slippery elm (optional)
1/4 inch gingerroot
1/2 cup coconut water
1/2 cup  chocolate rice or almond milk
1 1/2 cup ice
1 tsp. cinnamon

Blend all ingredients until smooth. Enjoy (then drink twice the amount of water than you think you should!)
