A little about myself…
As many others can relate, I did not come out of the womb eating kale chips, avocados and celery sticks. Thatʼs right, I was a self-proclaimed sweet tooth junkie who enjoyed a juicy rare steak with a side of mashed potatoes. Along with the scoop of ice cream came a large medical file at my doctor’s office.
Growing up, I was constantly sick from mononucleosis to polycystic ovaries and a long list between. When I wasnʼt in bed sick, I was groggy and feeling just “okay”. As I got older, I started to find patterns in my life which had a direct effect on my mental and physical health which contributed to my overall well-being. This is when I decided to finally take control of my own health by making small changes in my everyday habits and activities and to no surprise, it was working.
At this point, the keyboard had become my medical dictionary as I was constantly researching alternative means and approaches which lead me to the Institute of Holistic Nutrition. Here, I learned how to not only reach the point of homeostasis but how to maintain the balance in my body for optimal health. Not only did I improve my personal health, I became educated on how to pass this knowledge on to others so they can make the transformation that I did.
I strongly believe that you should not feel “okay” when every individual has the capability of feeling full of life and energy.
My mission as a nutritionist is to improve the well-being and quality of life of everyone who I encounter through nutrition and holistic health. With a balanced lifestyle, I am confident that you will reach your goals whether it be; a fitness goal, health related or simply fitting into those unworn skinny jeans neatly folded in the back of your closet!
Let’s move onto the Goods!
My true passion is food…real food. I’m not talking about processed, refined, packaged, deep-fried, neucked crap! Don’t get me wrong, this was not always the case and now and then I do enjoy one my grandma’s delicious homemade butter tarts BUT nothing can compare to a fresh, home cooked purposeful meal packed with all the goodies including; vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, anti-oxidants, yadda yadda yadda..
While I’m not playing the role of a Nutritionista, I adoooore.. cooking, being surrounded by my lovely vibrate friends and family, loud music (you don’t want to hear my shower voice), warm weather, reading..specifically Skinny Bitch & Skinny Bastard (PLEASE get your tush to the book store and read!), my cottage, Davids Tea, fun exercise, Indian food, blogging, Vegameatavegamin episode and chick flicks (When Harry met Sally, Frida <3) *Sigh*
With this blog, I hope to provide all you health guru’s with everyday tips, share my favourite recipes, keep you updated on the newest research in holistic health and more!
Hope you enjoy!
